Privacy policy

GetHandled currently offers a Maryland countertop-project contractor-selection and introduction service. We organize project information, vet the participating network, select one independent contractor for project fit, explain the fit, obtain your consent to share relevant information and make one introduction. This policy explains the information we process when you visit our site, respond to an advertisement, schedule or attend a consultation, communicate with us, authorize a payment, or participate as a contractor.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use GetHandled, we may collect:

• Contact information: name, email address, phone number and communication preferences.
• Project information: service type, property ZIP code or address, homeowner or decision-maker status, timing, budget or financing readiness, preferences, approximate measurements, photographs and notes.
• Scheduling and communication information: appointment details, call notes, text or email history and consent records.
• Contractor information: company, trade, service territory, capacity, licensing or insurance details supplied to us, and project outcomes.
• Technical and advertising information: browser and device data, IP-derived approximate location, referral source, campaign parameters, cookies or similar identifiers, Meta lead identifiers and conversion events.
• Transaction records: authorized payment amount, date, status and processor reference. Payment processors handle full card details; GetHandled is not intended to retain full card numbers or security codes.

How we use information

When you submit a GetHandled form on Facebook or Instagram, we receive the contact details and project answers you submit, any contact preferences you provide, and identifiers for the form, lead and advertisement. We use this information to record and respond to your inquiry, assess service availability, and connect your inquiry with an appointment you book. Providing a phone number does not by itself opt you into marketing text messages. Your advertising-sharing preference is separate from your request for service.

• Respond to requests and confirm service-area or project fit.
• Prepare, schedule and conduct consultations.
• Organize project details, select a contractor, explain the fit and record your consent before making one introduction.
• Send requested confirmations, reminders and service communications.
• Administer advancement payments, credits, accounting and disputes.
• Measure request quality and project outcomes, including advertising performance.
• Improve service design, prevent misuse, secure our systems and comply with law.

How information is disclosed

If you choose to proceed and consent to the introduction, we may disclose relevant contact and project information to the selected participating contractor. Separately, we may disclose information to vendors supporting hosting, forms, scheduling, communications, payment processing, analytics, advertising and accounting; to professional advisers; or when required for safety, fraud prevention, legal process or a business transaction. Contractors are independent businesses and are responsible for their own privacy, estimates, contracts, licensing and work.

We do not state that every disclosure is legally a “sale” or “sharing” under every privacy law. Some advertising or analytics activity may be treated that way in certain jurisdictions. Where applicable, we will honor legally required opt-out rights.

Advertising and outcome measurement

GetHandled uses a Meta browser pixel to measure page visits, landing-page views and completed consultation bookings. Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, measures selected homeowner page visits and completed consultation bookings. Our configured Google events use page labels and page addresses without query strings; they do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers or payment-card details. Google may process browser and device information, cookies and approximate location as part of its analytics service. Use the choices below to turn off this measurement in your browser.

We use Meta advertising tools to understand which ads lead to relevant project inquiries and bookings and to improve our advertising. When the relevant connection is enabled, we may send Meta an update that we received your inquiry or that your project met our qualification criteria, together with when that event occurred and identifiers used to match the update to your inquiry.

For Facebook or Instagram forms, these updates use the original lead identifier. For a qualification established in a Messenger conversation, they use our Page identifier and the identifier Meta assigns to you when you message our Page. Qualified website-booking updates use one-way hashes of your email address and phone number for matching, along with pseudonymous record identifiers. These matching identifiers are not anonymous information. Website-booking updates remain subject to the separate permission you give our coordinator. We do not include your messages, project notes, payment details, QuickBooks records or an IP-address field in these outcome updates.

To ask us to stop future advertising outcome updates, tell your GetHandled coordinator or email team.gethandled@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We use the contact details you confirm with us to find the relevant records and record your choice. This does not affect your booking or service. This preference control cannot recall updates already sent. The browser measurement choices on this page control website tracking separately. We respect any permission required for a particular use.

Payments and the advancement service

No payment is required to book or attend the free consultation. At the end of the call, if you choose to advance, you may accept the written terms and authorize the separate non-refundable $150 GetHandled advancement service. Payment is processed through QuickBooks during the call. We use transaction references and payment status in operational records, not full card details. If you later sign an agreement with the introduced contractor, that contractor provides the $150 credit under the written mechanism.

The separate advancement-payment description does not apply to the Maryland countertop free-estimate offer, which requires no reservation or advancement payment.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use necessary storage for site operation and, when enabled, analytics or advertising technologies for attribution, performance and service improvement. Browser controls may limit some technologies. Blocking them may reduce measurement accuracy without preventing you from contacting GetHandled.

Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to requests, document introductions, provide customer service, measure advertising, maintain accounting records, prevent disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the record type and relationship. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete information, or opt out of non-essential marketing. Applicable law may provide additional rights, subject to verification and exceptions. Email team.gethandled@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Reply STOP to an applicable marketing text to stop future marketing texts. Service messages about a request you initiated may still be sent when necessary.

Children

GetHandled is intended for adults arranging or providing home-improvement services. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the marketplace, vendors or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
